Hopeless Clown Parade – Shliokavica (2025)

London Hopeless Clown Parade is the second collection of the collective Shliokavica.

This visual art collection is a love letter to the strength and resilience of alternative people and creatives surviving in a world increasingly fascist and in an industry that crushes their soul while being fed by their dream of creative success and social revolution.

Inspired by the creative journey from the Gen Z full of hope, to a widow looking back on her life, the collection showcased as an anti-fashion catwalk explores the characters we encounter and mutate during this transmutative quest. Made on the spot for a one evening performance, this collection is ‘you get what you pay for’: nothing but pure chaos, intangible clothing and an ode to our resilience.

‘For my friend, boss and mentor who made me believe another way of creating was possible and that it was worth fighting and who had to be confined at the mental health facility a couple of weeks ago. For my fellow queer, POC and alternative friends who see their story trending more than ever in pop culture while fascist laws, social media and government are making our life increasingly threatened. For my alternative friends in their mid-20s/30s who struggle to recognize themself in their life choices after years of having to compromise between political decision and the need to escape precarity.

In the face of this despair, this collection is a tribute to the London creative souls and friends who have paved my way, fed my soul and work, and kept me going, supporting the brand and inspiring it while I never got any money to pay them. This collection is for those fallen angels who came to London with dreams of sharing their own stories and paying it today with our lives, whether it is through financial, emotional, or mental struggle.

This collection is for us, sad clowns who are putting on a show for the world to dream and paint a smile on for as long as we can escape the mental asylum. The world is our circus, and you are part of it.’
